Copper and Silver Bangle Bracelet
This is a great unisex bracelet that could be chunked up by using heavier gauge copper wire. Leave natural (copper will tarnish quickly) or antique using Liver of Sulfur.
Level: Easy
Materials
24g copper wire
16g dead soft sterling wire (do not cut off yet)
2 Bali drum beads
For a 7 1/2" bangle:
Using a mandrel, create 3 1 ¾" tightly wound coils using the copper wire. String one copper coil, one drum bead, one copper coil, one drum bead, and one copper coil on the 16g sterling wire. Make a round loop at the open end of the sterling wire. Harden the loop and 6" of the 16g wire using a mallet or hammer. Slide the coils and drum beads to the round loop; they should fit snugly against it. Cut the sterling wire from your spool ¾" from the end of the last coil and make another round loop and harden it. Using additional 16g wire, make 1" S hook clasp and attach to one end loop.
If you are using larger gauge copper wire or making a longer bracelet, adjust the length of the sterling wire accordingly. Larger gauge wire will create coils with a bigger diameter, requiring a larger overall length to fit on the wrist.
Because you have hardened the sterling wire, your bangle will be stiffer and keep its shape better, however you may still want to shape it to your wrist prior to wearing.
