Simple Stretchy Bracelet

Whether you want the look of an endless design, or have trouble with clasps, stretchy bracelets are quick and easy to make. Use StretchMagic brand cord for a strong hold that will last for years. These bracelets also make great kid's projects for those rainy days when your children need a creative outlet!

Level: Easy

Materials
Coordinating beads, stones, chips
StretchMagic beading cord
Optional: Super glue or clear nail polish

Determine the pattern of your bracelet by laying beads out on a beading board or table. Finished bracelet length will be approximately 7 1/2" for an average sized wrist. Leaving the StretchMagic on the spool, string beads on the cord. Your first or last bead should have a larger hole, if possible, to hide the knot.

When you are satisfied with the length, clip the loose end of the cord with a binder clip or bead clip, leaving about 2" free cord to tie the knot. Cut the cord off the spool from the opposite end, again leaving approximately 2" cord extra. Remove the binder clip and tie the two ends together using at least 4 square knots. I like to pull the cord fairly tightly when knotting, but not so tight that it is stressed and unable to stretch out.

Test the knot by putting the bracelet on, and by gently tugging opposite the knot on both sides. If the knot is secure, clip excess cord very close to the knot. If you would like, use a drop of super-glue or nail polish to hold the knot. After it is completely dry, pull the cord on one side of a bead so that the knot slips inside the bead.
