Spider In A Web Earrings

Spooky but fun - create a pair just in time for Halloween!

Level: Medium

Materials
22g round half hard sterling wire, cut into two pieces, approximately 5"each
26-28g round half hard sterling wire, cut into two pieces, approximately 8"each
Two sterling spider charms
Four 4mm silver oval jump rings
Two silver post earrings with end loop

Using a round-nosed pliers, create a small loop at the end of one piece of 22g wire. This will hang the "web" from the earring finding. Begin making a loose spiral at the opposite end of the wire, using your fingers or pliers to shape the spiral. The end of the wire will be at the inside of the spiral. Using pliers or fingers, wind a small amount of 26-28g wire around the top of the spiral, near the small loop. This will secure the thinner wire to the heavier spiral. Begin weaving the thin wire in and out of the spiral, occasionally wrapping it around the heavier wire to secure. Use an abstract design (back and forth, across) until the thin wire is woven through the spiral like a spider's web. Attach one spider charm to the "web" using an oval jump ring so that the charm hangs in the middle of the web. Attach the web to the earring finding using an additional jump ring.

Repeat for second earring.
