Determine desired finished length of your eyeglass chain or badge holder by draping a measuring tape around the back of your neck and meeting one end of it to the stopping point. While some folks (due to personal preference or safety reasons) need a shorter chain, typical length is around 30″ (will hit approximately mid-chest). Cut beading wire 3″ longer than your desired length.

Arrange beads on bead board or table in the order you’d like them on your chain. Keep in mind comfort, use flat and smaller stones or beads in the center of the design as they will rest on your neck. Because the neck chain will be very long, also keep in mind weight.lots of big, chunky beads will weigh you down and make you feel like you have a millstone around your neck!

Using crimp bead, secure one end of the beading wire to one eyeglass holder or the loop of the badge hook. String beads, being sure to tuck the “tail” of the beading wire into 2-3 beginning beads. When neck chain the desired length, use remaining crimp bead to secure open end to remaining eyeglass holder or to the badge hook.
