Everything from Week 5

February 2, 2009

Another busy week! For one thing, I made that tiara last Sunday…and added a bracelet and four pairs of earrings to my inventory.

The bracelet is Blue Peruvian Opal, with a design inspired by a project in Sharilyn Miller’s Bead on a Wire.

One of the things I have never been able to get good at are hoop earrings. With some help from my pal Jeri, I finally have some hoops I’m pleased with! These are plain and simple, but I like them. The smaller pair will be mine to keep.

Next up, another pair of hoops. These are meant to be worn with the Peruvian Opal bracelet, but I liked them so much I decided to keep them as well! (See any kind of trend here? hahaha!) I’ll make another pair to sell with the bracelet.

Finally, a pair of Egyptian Coils earrings. These are pretty quick to make up and look impressive. As with the bracelet and the coiled earrings, I used Liver of Sulfur to oxidize the wire and give it depth and color. While I like shiny silver, there are times that the LoS look is really needed.

On to another week of jewelry fun!
